Paintings of Women's Fashions

No. 53 LA MODE ILLUSTREE ~ BUREAUX JOURNAL PARIS FRAMED  FASHION PRINT VICTORIAN STYLE LADIES

1862 Reproduction Print in frame
I have got to find my magnifying glass for that date!
What a Great Treasure!

Prints such as these are reproductions produced by The Artistic Publishing Company
They were produced as lithos from actual Paintings of Women's Fashions used to advertised the latest styles from Paris For Newspapers printings.
The actual paintings were done everything from oil on canvas to hand colored in pencil.
This print seems to be of one taken from another done in pencil.

In this picture
It shows 2 Ladies in Victorian Gowns
One is reading perhaps Poetry while holding a rose
As her friend listens
I have visited several blogs, websites
to learn more about the lithos
but could not find another print displaying this scene.
Frame is 11x9x2 (deep)

The Print is approx 6 x 8"

The words on the front
~ Leroy (?) Imp, Paris
La Mode Illustree
Bureaux de Journal
56 Rue Jacob Paris

In the corner
~ Copyright Published In The USA
By Artistic Picture Publishing Co, Inc (I can't make out the rest)
~ something something 1862
(? I can not tell the date that the litho was made from~ The date on the litho has nothing to do about WHEN the litho was produced~ That year I can not see ~ My guess from the paper & nails used on the back 1950 - 1960's )
No. 53
~ On the other corner ~ It's just to small to see

There is what appears to be water marks in one of the corners
This print does not have a certificate or anything of that nature.
And I have NOT tried to remove it from the frame
The nails & paper on the back are just so Old I hate to bother them.

I'm selling it as a Vintage Wall Hanging Print W/ the Details I can see on it & About it.
The backside has been opened Exposing Old nails that hold the print in the frame
The paper on the back is so old & thin that I'm afraid to try to tape it close.

The frame is Wooden But painted and Gives it a Plastic feeling. The frame is old, Unique & has some small dents or nicks in various places (please see all photos)
I have NO Problem at all Keeping this Print In my home Forever :)

Click either of the first 2 pictures to be taken to the shop for purchase Thanks

Photo at top Looks All messed up, but it's not,
What appears to be damage is really My shadow Image being reflected off of the glass which covers the print.

End of the Trail ~ Laughing horse ~ Tired Man

The BASICS
Frame is 14" x 12"
 print
Retouched Rustic Wooden frame
No glass front
Native American Indian & His horse at the End of the Trail
This is a reprint picture on paper marked 1991 Advanced Graphics
Stock #47B

What we Started Out with....
 End of the Trail
What we Ended Up With
 End of the Trail

MY DAUGHTER Helped w/ This Print
 End of the Trail

In our 3d Kick, My daughter and I have taken this print and added some texture touches to it...
We used some arizona Stones, sand, dried plant life for the scenery
And then We Gussied up the horse using some Santa Fe fabrics & wig hair to give him a 3d' Mane & tail
The Frame Needed SOMETHING!
It May Not have been The Style of Choice
My son said, "You should have stuck w/ Native Indian Designs"
Like Kokopelli, Pottery or Sun God designs

But You know,
Frankie the Cat
For Arizona!
The Whole Piece turned out PUUURFECT
I Think Frankie agrees!
